Dr. Ifeanyi Onyejiji is an educational consultant, curriculum developer, speaker, and the Founder of Onye Speaks. He has dedicated his career to supporting youth from all backgrounds in K-12 on their path to college. In particular, he has built tools and systems dedicated to assisting students from marginalized and under-resourced backgrounds. The son of two Nigerian immigrants, Dr. Onye has successfully navigated the education system and aims to help all students do the same. He has designed intentionally engaging curriculum for thousands of students centered around soft-skill development. ​

 

Dr. Onye has earned his Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from UCLA, his Masters of Science in Educational Counseling (with PPS Credential) from National University, and his Bachelors of Arts in Economics from UC Berkeley. He has spent years serving as a college counselor, non-profit leader, and school district central office leader.  In addition to operating Onye Speaks, Dr. Onye currently serves as a educational consultant for several mission driven organizations. He is the recipient of the 2026 Educator of the Year Award from Ednovate Charter Schools for his work building student-centered programming. ​

Importantly, as a credentialed school counselor, Dr. Onye believes in the holistic development of students. He knows that all students can thrive once their basic needs are satisfied and they are properly engaged and supported. He truly believes in the adage that "students don't care what you know, until they know how much you care."

Dr. Onye is also a lover of sports, nachos, and just being near the beach.
